The Artists
Our collective has over 100 artists. They can both invision and produce new and innovative designs, and also can take current trends and interpret them for ageless appeal. Three exclusive Jewelry Source designers are Angelique Brousard, Janet Rubenfeld, and Miguel de los Santos. They are consultants for the pieces we sell on the site, and also personally design special jewelry for our online store.
Angelique Brouard
Angelique Brousard is a contemporary jewelry artist from Paris, France. Currently living in Miami, where she has lived since she was a teenager, Angelique studied fashion design at the Miami College of Design and Art, where she apprenticed for global jewelry designer Oscar Mansis. Angelique’s exquisite creations are inspired by the ocean, the rain, and her genuine love of the water. The Angelique Brousard collection is sold at boutiques on Lincoln Road in Miami and at craft and outdoor fairs in New York, New Jersey, and Santa Monica, CA.
Angelique’s jewelry has been worn by American actresses Sutton Janis, Morgan Layne, and Catherine Weitz, who personally called Angelique asking her to create an aquamarine necklace for her Hawaiian wedding.
Angelique is based in Miami and designs a new piece for The Jewelry Source every month. She believes a good piece of jewelry makes a woman feel special, fills her with confidence, and enhances her natural beauty.
Miguel de los Santos
Miguel de los Santos grew up in Ponce, Puerto Rico and moved to New York City in 2001 to study at Parsons School of Design. A longtime lover of jewelry for women, he was sketching necklaces and bracelets at age 10. With his mother’s encouragement, he started selling metal jewelry with Faux stones on at craft fairs and at the beach in San Juan, and was met with much success—people were requesting orders from him for jewelry and he wasn’t even in college yet! Burning the midnight oil to personally hand-craft all the requests he had for his designs in San Juan, Miguel realized jewelry design was indeed his calling. After working as a designer and a consultant for Michael C. Fina and Alyssa Fine Diamonds, Miguel asked soap opera actress Candace Brock to wear a white-gold choker necklace he designed to the Soap Opera Awards—and she proudly did. When the press starting to buzz about Candace’s diamond, opal, and topaz necklace, a star was born, and he name was Miguel de los Santos! The Miguel de los Santos collection is sold at boutiques in Boston, Miami, New York and San Juan and Miguel’s designs have been modeled in Manhattan Pages, Woman, ClassAct, and Ocean magazines. He designs a new piece of jewelry every month for The Jewelry Source and offers discounts to those members on his email mailing list. He still personally designs most of his jewelry and is launching a new collection for brides and bridemaids in the fall.
Janet Rubenfeld
Janet Rubenfeld has been designing jewelry since age 6, when she used clay beads to make a necklace for her mother. Although she is no longer 6, she does sometimes still use clay beads when designing jewelry with her two young daughters. Based in New York, The Janet Rubenfeld Collection, established in 1997, celebrates the color of precious gemstones. A longtime precious gem lover, Janet is the daughter of a Brooklyn-based jewelry store owner, and she practically grew up surrounded by jewelry. They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and Janet is no exception. Her designs generally include diamonds mixed with other stones to create a brilliant, colorful piece. Her designs are hand-cut and hand-crafted and not mass-produced. The Janet Rubenfeld collection is sold on the Shop at Home Network, at select boutiques in New York City and Brooklyn, and at Barney’s New York. Janet designs a new, exclusive piece for The Jewelry Store twice a year and was voted “Best Jewelry Designer” by New York Shopping magazine last year.
